    Statement of Purpose
The purpose of PAS e-Publishing Services is to enable academic and non-academic scholars in a diverse array of fields to publish their books, literature reviews, research reports, and other academic and non-academic materials. The advantages of e-Publishing include the low cost to the author as well as the production of an accessible, well-reviewed and low-cost electronic product for other scholars, students, academic institutions, and general readers.

    Vision
It is the vision of PAS e-Publishing Services to increase the communication among different academic and non-academic disciplines by offering a broad range of peer-reviewed electronically-published material. This feat is achieved via a fast and efficient peer-review process and the publication of an accessible product for readers worldwide.

The publishing process and cost-effectiveness of PAS e-Publishing Services reduce many of the problems and frustrations associated with traditional publishing, such as the slow turn-over time, expensive publishing fees, and low payment royalties for authors. PAS e-Publishing Services marks the beginning of a new era in electronic publishing; its vision is the encouragement and distribution of academic and non-academic contributions to an international audience at a fraction of the cost of traditional publishing.

    Scope of Publishing
PAS e-Publishing Services encourages writers, researchers, academics, and students from various disciplines to submit their publications. The topics that are covered can be broad or specific; inter-disciplinary writing is strongly encouraged. The aim of submissions should be to enhance communication among the various disciplines.

    Submission Process
Authors should submit their books, reports, or other academic or non-academic material in electronic format (details are discussed below). Once the material is received by the editors of PAS e-Publishing Services, the material will be reviewed in a timely manner and authors will be notified via e-mail regarding the status of their submission: Accept, Revise and Re-submit, or Reject. Material will be evaluated based on its merit.

    Criteria
The editors of PAS e-Publishing Services kindly request that all submitted documents be written in English and in AP style (Associated Press Stylebook and Libel Manual), in a scientific or medical format, or in a style that is consistent with the predominant publication style in one's discipline. References, tables, figures, and language style should be consistent with the format used throughout the book. Electronic submissions must be made in MS Word (.doc).

Any figures or illustrations that the author wishes to have included should be submitted in GIF (preferred for sharp line, black-and-white, and gray-scale images), JPEG (preferred for colour images) or TIFF format. Authors are also kindly requested to send any images or figures separately along with their submission. Authors will be able to attach files from the submission menu.

PAS e-Publishing Services welcomes your submissions on a wide range of topics related to current issues in the health sciences, social sciences, public policy, arts, and literature. To help us learn more about your project, your submissions should include:

The book's working title; all authors' names, addresses, phone numbers, and
    e-mail addresses
A clear statement of the book's subject
A description of the book's key features
A description of the book's primary and secondary audience
An assessment of the book's position in the market, including a list of
    competing titles
    The manuscript's number of pages
    An outline of the book
A sample chapter from the book
A CV or biographical sketch from each author

Feel free to include any other information that can help us understand the project. We will review your proposal carefully and will contact you within 14 days.

    Processing Period
Once the editors have received the submission by the author(s), the material will be thoroughly reviewed in an expedited manner. Authors can anticipate to be contacted within two weeks of a submission regarding the status of their submission. Depending on this status, the processing period will vary. If a submission is accepted, it will be processed immediately and will be available online within four weeks of the submission date. If the author(s) are invited to revise and resubmit their article, the editors will review the article again and will inform the author(s) regarding the status of their submission within one week of that submission.

    Copyright
Authors have full copyright over their material, but are asked to fulfill several conditions: After a submission has been accepted and published, authors may not submit the same material to another journal or publishing company. The author should also reference PAS e-Publishing Services whenever citing the publication (e.g., conference presentations, CVs, grant applications). Failure to uphold these conditions will result in withholding of further payments for purchased publications and may also result in subsequent legal actions against the author(s).

    Sales and Payment
Authors will be paid bi-annually for every submission that is purchased. Authors will receive 87% of the publication price from every publication purchased. The remainder of the funds will be used to pay for the maintenance of the database and Internet server. All fees listed are in Canadian dollars ($CDN).
